The Epic Book Review
I read a book called Liar’s Poker. It is written by Michael Lewis and it is a semi-autobiographical book which tells the story of a bond trader at Wallstreet. I chose the book because I already had it on my bookshelf and because I have a strong interest towards the financial industry which this book is about. After receiving my degree in Computer Science I’m going to pursue a career in financial sector and actually I have already signed for a summer job in Nordea. So, the book tells the story of a bond trader. Trader is a person who buys and sells financial instruments aiming to make profit from them. The book tells about the protagonists’ experiences and thoughts about living and working on Wallstreet. It discusses about attitudes towards money and how success is declared. Even thought the book is about what happened in the mid 80s it is still considered as a classic what it comes to books about Wallstreet.
